Sr AI-Augmented Full-Stack Developer / Solutions Engineer (003 - 01383)

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Sr AI-Augmented Full-Stack Developer / Solutions Engineer

Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: The company is an established Australian technology company with 20+ years in business, wholesaling IT hardware including industrial solutions and point-of-sale systems. Their work runs on serial numbers, warranties and stock movement, all managed through our long-standing ERP system, Ostendo.

Ostendo works well for them and has API access available, so they are building on it. Nexus is their internal AI transformation program: four AI-enabled applications that will lift productivity, automate repetitive work, put company knowledge at our team's fingertips, and extend Ostendo with new modules.

MVPs already exist for the applications, so you'll start with a clear picture of what we need

Role Overview: We're looking for a senior software engineer who uses AI as an accelerator. You bring strong engineering fundamentals and use tools like OpenAI Codex, Claude Code and Cursor every day to design, build, debug, test and document faster.

You'll own each application end to end:

Requirements → Architecture → Development → Testing → Security Review → UAT → Deployment → Documentation → Handover

The goal is software that is secure, maintainable, well documented and ready for our internal team to support long after handover. Our Brisbane team will supply requirements, business knowledge and heavy involvement in UAT, so you can focus on building it right.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development

  • Design and build the four Nexus applications, from front end and back end to database and integration layers

  •  Translate business requirements from the Australian team into practical technical solutions

  •  Integrate Nexus with our Ostendo ERP via its API, adding new modules and capabilities

  • Use AI-assisted development extensively to move fast, while reviewing and owning every line that ships

AI Integration

  •  Integrate applications with LLM platforms including OpenAI, Claude and Microsoft AI services

  • Build a knowledge engine for our product specs and documents using RAG, embeddings and vector search

  • Apply structured outputs, function calling, AI agents and workflow automation where they add value

  • Choose confidently between AI and conventional software logic for each problem

Software Architecture

  • Establish a technical architecture built for security, reliability, maintainability, scalability and auditability

  •  Set up separate development, testing and production environments

  • Explain architectural decisions to our IT team in plain language

Source Code and Version Control

  • Run professional Git practices: branching strategy, pull requests, code reviews, release management and rollback procedures

  • Keep all source code in company-controlled repositories with a clear change history

Security

  • Implement authentication, Microsoft Authenticator / 2FA and role-based access control

  • Manage API authentication, secrets and keys, database security and encryption

  • Build in logging, audit trails, input validation and dependency/package security

  • Protect against common web vulnerabilities and handle confidential company information with care

  • Review, test and validate all AI-generated code before it is accepted

Testing and UAT

  •  Establish unit, integration, automated and regression testing

  • Set up UAT environments and support the Australian team through business-process validation

  • Build robust error handling, logging and monitoring

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

  • Deliver system architecture, repository, database and API/integration documentation

  • Write deployment, environment/configuration, administrator and troubleshooting guides, plus security notes

  • Run regular knowledge-transfer sessions so our internal team can confidently maintain and support every application

  • Add clear code comments where they aid understanding and maintenance

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience

  • Production systems you have personally built, deployed and maintained, ready to walk us through

  • Full-stack development of modern web applications

  • REST APIs and API integration

  • SQL and database design

  • Developing agentic AI systems and full-stack AI applications.

  • Agent orchestration, tool use, workflows, memory and multi-agent systems.

  • AI code-generation verification, testing, review and evaluation.

  • LLM guardrails, policies, skills and behavioural controls.

  • Cybersecurity best practices for AI applications and autonomous agents.

  • Token budgeting, context-window management, latency and inference cost optimisation.

  • Integrating AI agents with APIs, databases, authentication, monitoring and production systems.

  • Git and professional version control workflows

  •  Authentication, authorization and application security

  • Cloud deployment and production maintenance

  • Testing and debugging

  • Daily use of AI development tools (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or similar) across design, development, debugging, testing and documentation, with real examples to share

Preferred Experience:

Experience with some of the following is highly regarded. Strong fundamentals and a fast learning curve matter most.

  • AI & LLM : OpenAI API, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, RAG, vector databases, AI agents

  • Microsoft ecosystem: Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft Authenticator, Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps

  • Languages and frameworks: Python, TypeScript / JavaScript, React / Next.js, .NET / C#

  • Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server

  • DevOps: GitHub, Docker, CI/CD

  • Business systems: ERP integration, internal enterprise applications, business workflow automation

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
