Group Manager – AI Safety & Cyber Research

Description

We are seeking an experienced Group Manager to lead the whole intent-analysis program: two Team Leads, four Domain Experts, and a pool of freelance reviewers. This role is dedicated to delivering high-quality intent labels for cybersecurity prompts that an AI system could not confidently classify as benign or malicious.

You need a strong cybersecurity background across offensive and defensive domains, proven experience managing managers and technical specialists, and the ability to run a data-quality program at scale.

What you'll do:

  • Own delivery against volume, turnaround, and quality targets across all three profiles

  • Manage and develop the two Team Leads

  • Define the intent taxonomy and annotation guidelines together with the Team Leads, and approve changes to them

  • Decide freelancer headcount and its split across profiles, based on the row volume per profile

  • Review quality and throughput metrics across the program and drive corrective actions

  • Plan hiring and onboarding of full-time experts and freelancers, and manage the related budget

  • Act as the escalation point for sensitive, policy-edge, or cross-team cases and as the main contact for stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 4 years managing technical specialists or managers

  • Broad working knowledge of the program's profiles (vulnerability research and reverse engineering, ICS/OT firmware, malware and threat analysis, and offensive security across enterprise, cloud, and web), enough to judge expert decisions and guideline changes

  • Experience running data labeling, quality assurance, trust and safety, or content review programs at scale, including QA sampling, calibration, and inter-annotator agreement

  • Experience managing a mix of full-time employees and freelancers, including capacity planning against variable volume

  • Strong judgment on dual-use cybersecurity content and on assessing intent

  • Clear written and verbal communication in English, including reporting to stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • CISSP, CISM, OSCP

  • Experience in AI safety, trust and safety, or red teaming of AI systems
