Mason - Accelerating development of the built world
Mason is on a mission to accelerate the development of the built world. We are tackling some of the most pressing challenges of our time - housing shortages, energy constraints, and decaying infrastructure - all of which are exacerbated by the slow pace of physical development.
This is one of the largest, least-modernized markets in the world. Trillions in spending, and much of the work still runs on spreadsheets, documents, and manual processes.
We create AI systems that transform some of the largest firms in the world.
A core part of this work is building the company brain: turning decades of fragmented documents, databases, emails, and operational knowledge into connected data and context that AI agents can actually use.
We're growing fast - we have an 8-figure pipeline of projects and are looking for great engineers to join our team.
Our founding team comprises a repeat founder who exited to a Fortune 500, a former tech lead at Meta Superintelligence who co-created Meta AI, and a development director who built $2B+ of projects.
The role
You'll work directly with enterprise customers to figure out where AI can make a meaningful difference, define what should be built, and help get it into everyday use.
You'll spend time with executives and the people doing the work, map workflows and data, identify the important exceptions, and turn what you learn into a concrete deployment plan. You'll stay involved through implementation, evaluation, and rollout, keeping stakeholders aligned and the team focused on the outcome.
This role combines customer leadership, operational analysis, product judgment, and hands-on technical work. You'll build prototypes, explore APIs and data, and evaluate solutions. You'll partner with engineers who own the production systems and infrastructure.
What you'll do
Lead discovery with executives, operators, and IT teams to understand how the business actually works
Map workflows, systems, data, exceptions, and decision makers
Identify valuable AI applications and define scope, requirements, priorities, and measures of success
Build useful prototypes, test ideas against real examples, and evaluate quality and failure cases
Work with engineers to translate findings into an implementation plan and resolve questions as the system takes shape
Own customer communication, stakeholder alignment, rollout coordination, training, and adoption
Track whether the deployment improves the customer's work and use those findings to guide the next iteration
What we're looking for
At least four years of relevant experience in enterprise delivery, technical consulting, product, operations, or building a company
Evidence of independently driving a complex initiative with multiple stakeholders and a concrete outcome
Strong communication and judgment with executives, operators, and technical teams
The ability to turn a messy process into clear requirements, priorities, and decisions
Practical technical ability: you can work with APIs and structured data, build a useful prototype, and investigate how an AI system succeeds or fails
A record of learning unfamiliar tools and domains quickly, taking ownership, and following through
Willingness to travel and work from customer offices
Where you might stand out
Your strongest contribution could be:
Enterprise relationships: earning executive trust and navigating complex organizations
Workflow and product judgment: finding the important problem and defining a solution people will use
Technical experimentation: quickly building prototypes, working with data, and evaluating AI approaches
Implementation and adoption: turning a plan into a successful rollout and changing how a team works
You may have been a deployment strategist, technical consultant, product manager, solutions engineer, operator, or founder. Show us the technical work you've done and the outcomes you've owned. Formal software engineering experience is optional; practical technical capability is essential.
Relevant technologies
Useful experience includes SQL, Python or TypeScript, APIs, enterprise data platforms, AI model APIs, agent tools, and evaluation workflows.
Experience with comparable tools is welcome. You should be comfortable getting into the data and tools yourself, explaining what you find, and working effectively with engineers on the production implementation.
Location and travel
This is a full-time role based in New York City or San Francisco. Customer travel and onsite work are part of the role, especially during discovery and early deployment. Expect to spend meaningful time with customer teams, followed by ongoing collaboration and periodic visits as the engagement requires.
Team and culture
CEO is a second-time founder who sold his last company to Coinbase
CTO was previously a tech lead at Meta Superintelligence and co-created Meta AI
COO has led over $2B in real estate development
Backed by investors, operators, and major development firms
Working directly with teams managing billions in AUM
Small, intense, low-ego team with substantial ownership from day one
Regular board game nights, lots of laughs, no corporate nonsense
We're hiring people with different strengths. Tell us where you're strongest and what you've owned. Apply to the role closest to your experience; we'll consider you across relevant openings.
If you want to help redefine the built world - let's talk :)
